Kerrisdale Nakamura

Kerrisdale Nakamura Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato We had planned to dine at Ajisai (see previous blog post here), but it was jam packed and long line ups, we decided to go across the street, and found Nakamura – quiet, half empty and tranquil. A much better atmosphere for myself and my company. His friend though was a big fan of Ajisai, but we figured we’d be adventurous and try out a new place. I’m glad!

The place was more authentic. The dishes were delicious. The prices are a bit higher than Ajisai, but the quality was really good. The server was really friendly and they were genuinely happy – both were Japanese, or at least both spoke Japanese.

The restaurant is small, with only 4-5 tables, but still spacious in between so there’s no cramming. Very clean, tidy, perfect lighting, quiet and relaxing – a perfect place for dining and chatting with friends.

We shared the agedashi tofu, gyoza, and chicken karage. It was all really good and reminded me of eating at restaurants in Japan. I ordered some sushi and chawanmushi. They were all very satisfying. I’d love to go back again to try more dishes!
