Coco Et Olive

Coco Et Olive on UrbanspoonOn a nice summer day, after eating lunch at Zipang Provisions, a group of about 10 of us went to Coco Et Olive. Most seats inside were taken, so we went out to the parklet around the corner. Besides, it was extremely hot and humid inside the cafe, despite the door being always open and there were some fans on.

As many cafes on Main Street, this was yet another hipter-ish cafe. Serving drinks in mason jars, it is the place to go for your trendy drink. I ordered a Vanilla Rooibos Iced tea (cold drinks are 50 cents more). It was really refreshing and I loved that it wasn’t sweetened. Tasted so good in a thick glass jar out in the sun. My friend took a sip and remarked ‘beautiful’ (taste) and Sheepie who’s got the sweet tooth called it bland and weak. Lol. I liked it just the way it was.

Service can be a bit slow, but they are friendly and were very accommodating of our big group. I’m not really into the hipster trend, so not sure if I’d come back, especially when it’s like a sauna inside. However, good they have refreshing teas.

Second Time

It was rainy February late Saturday afternoon. Like in the summer, this cafe never seems to have good ventilation or a comfortable temperature. It was quite stuffy with the entire cafe full. Crowded tables with mismatched chairs and tables with very little room in between seemed to attract customers – surprisingly, all were females.

Sheepie brought a long a group of about 10 people. We had to wait around for tables to open up. Two of them left as they weren’t happy with the crowd (apparently, someone was rude to them). Anyways, if you’re a regular reader, you know I’m not a fan of crowded, loud places. I couldn’t hear a lot of the conversations, and most of us seemed to be sweating in the stuffy heat. idearabbit_cocoetolive5

I had the Rooibos tea latte. It was a good size and foamy, but nothing can be compared to my favourite Rooibos latte from Waves.

My friend really liked the mug (different from mine) he had for his latte.

I return to this cafe because of Sheepie, but I wouldn’t on my own.
