Pappa Roti

PappaRoti on UrbanspoonA clean, modern, and slightly hipsterish cafe on Robson, open till close to midnight every night. My friend suggested I try their infamous coffee bun, so I tagged along to try it out. My friend ordered their special Karak milk tea. He loves it so much he even tried getting the recipe from the staff. Of course they didn’t tell him, lol. I took a sip of it. It was very flavourable, but a tad bit too sweet for me – but that’s probably since I like my tea plain.
I ordered my Coffee bun $3.50 with a Vanilla Rooibos tea. idearabbit-papparoti2 idearabbit-papparotie

I liked how the bun came on a wooden tray. The crust was a bit crumbly, hence creating a bit of mess at the table, but the texture and taste was simply delicious. So soft with the right amount of moisture. The tea went very well with it.

Most of the staff seemed quite pleasant, but our cashier wasn’t as much. She didn’t ever smile or seemed welcoming – as if it was a drag to be working there. But other staff were quite pleasant – from the staff that brought out our drinks and buns, as well as the staff that offered to fill up my to-go cup with hot water when I asked her if I could take my half-drunk tea with me. Everything was pretty good! I would definitely return again!
