Platform 7 on Broadway

After discovering the one in Granview area, I wanted to also check out the one on Broadway. Again, the interior was built to look like a platform at a train station. Such a unique cafe, I love it! Unlike the other one, this one was less crowded, though it could have been because it was a weekday early evening. The place is clean and has a hipsterish feel. The concrete wall is fake, but it’s still fun to be in a Disney-like feel.

We ordered a Blueberry Muffin $3.00 and Iced Americano $3.00. The Iced Americano was really good and pretty large. It was good that we were sharing it! The pastries and desserts were limited, and none that were appealing to me (more appealing to Sheepie who is into the tarts, muffins, nutty things, etc.)

The service is friendly with all the staff smiling and saying thank you or goodbye when leaving. We’ll be back! A great place to bring people from out of town to a unique, memorable cafe.

Gallery Cafe

After living in downtown for so long, and visiting the gallery several times, I don’t know how I missed going to this cafe. It can be easily missed as it is on top of the gallery.

The cafe was pretty bare. It had an European cafe feel, and had a high-end charm. We each had a piece of dessert with Coffee $2.25. Nice presentation! The chocolate cake was really creamy and tasty. Mmmmmmm!

Since it was warm, we sat out on the patio. Definitely would come back again for sure!

Butter Baked Goods

To meet up with a friend Sheepie and I thought we’d check out Butter. It was a very chic place, with pastel, soft greens and pink. Their branding was well done, and one could spend more time just looking not only at the food, but the design as well.

idearabbit_butterbakedgoods1 I got myself a small cupcake $3.25. But it was too buttery and sweet. Enough so, that I had to give the leftover to Sheepie who was happy to take any sweets to satisfy his sweet tooth. It looked pretty, but the custard was cold and hard. I like fluffy, airy, soft custards – usually found in Asian cakes.

I had a pot of the Organic Vanilla tea.

Super cute place, but unfortunately, I am not the right target for their sweets. Still nice cafe to catch up with friends!
