Caffè Artigiano on Hornby

Caffè Artigiano on Urbanspoon

A nice cafe across the Vancouver Art Gallery. Despite the busy traffic of Robson and Hornby, the cafe was pretty empty when I arrived on a Saturday around noon.
I was greeted by a friendly cashier, and I ordered a Cafe Latte $4+. He asked if I wanted vanilla, caramel or hazelnut and I replied vanilla. I also ordered the already made Ham+Cheese Croissant $5+. I was asked if I’d like it grilled, and I answered yes. I got a number and they told me they would bring out the food to the table when it’s ready.

The latte art was very beautifully done. Even my friend that arrived shortly after noticed and commented. The cup was nice too, even branded with their name. I prefer having my drinks in a real mug/cup than disposable ones if I’m staying at the cafe. I found the vanilla to be a bit too sweet, so next time, I want to see if I can get it without any flavours – simple and natural.
The croissant was pretty good, though a bit pricey  for just ham and cheese. Though I guess $4+ for a small latte is pretty expensive, but I guess our culture and Starbucks has adopted that as being ‘normal’.

Very good cafe latte $4+

The cafe has a nice atmosphere and small patio in front. The station is fully equipped with napkins, cream, glasses for water, etc. The staff are friendly, and the place is kept clean.
