We had driven by this cafe a few times, and seen the nice interior and charming character of the cafe, so we finally decided to check it out.
The cafe is very spacious, with lots of space in between the tables, so you get some privacy.
I ordered the Vegetarian Chili $16 which came with whole wheat bread, a side of salad and a bowl of chill. For a ‘healthy’ dish, I was surprised at the huge block of butter. After I switched to a healthier diet, I stopped buying butter, but I do have a bit when I do dine out (indulgence! lol). There wasn’t anything extraordinary with the dish.
Sheepie ordered the Chicken Quesadilla $18. The tortilla was super thin and a bit burnt. It was too crispy and brittle that it was impossible to eat without the thing falling apart.
I would say that it’s on the pricier end, but then again, they use local Oceanwise fish, organic poultry and vegan and offer vegetarian and gluten-free options. They aim to work directly with local organic farms to ensure that their menu has the smallest ecological footprint possible.
We weren’t ‘wow-ed’ by it to think of coming back again, but maybe it needs a second assessment.
Satisfactory service.
