Luv Cravings

Luv Cravings Gourmet Lifestyle & Celebrations on UrbanspoonAs we walked toward the cafe after we parked around the corner, there was a couple who were happily talking.
Later, we found out that the girl was one of the staff and unlike her behavior to her ‘boyfriend’, her attitude towards the customers was emotionless and unfriendly as if she had lost her soul. The other girl working there was not any friendlier.

The cafe itself was a nice change from your usual Starbucks. Chandeliers, pink booths and black interior, it had a modern chic look.

The atmosphere was slightly gloomy, not sure if it’s the lighting, the unhappy staff or the pretty empty room but I wouldn’t say it’s comfy – though the seats were.

I ordered a Tiramisu $6.95 which was really good. Very creamy and soft custard. A bit pricey for something presented in a plastic cup and a small portion, but was happy with it.
idearabbit-luvcraving6The Red Espresso Latte $4.95 was also very good (not just in flavour, but for a late drink since it is caffeine free). Instead of coffee beans, this drink uses rooibos. It’s light and honey tasting.

I thought the food was decent. The service is lacking. I wouldn’t mind going back again, but they need to work on service!

Corner 23 萬巒豬腳

Corner 23 萬巒豬腳 on UrbanspoonA typical Taiwanese bubble tea restaurant. The interior was spacious and decor was nice. We had actually come all the way to try out the dessert place a few shops down, but they were closed, so we walked into Corner 23 instead. Service was extremely slow even though the restaurant was pretty much empty and there were more than necessary number of staff. The table next to us came later than us but their orders were taken as we twiddled our thumbs and waited more. I only wanted dessert, but they only had this Mango Cheesecake which was not a cake, but a pudding. I didn’t want that or anything else, so Sheepie had one of the bubble tea to go.

Ok, so I didn’t eat any of the food, but the service and attitude wasn’t all that great. They weren’t friendly or welcoming at all. I wouldn’t return unless my friends insisted.

Sweet Revenge Patisserie

Sweet Revenge Patisserie on UrbanspoonIt was jam packed even though it was late in the evening. It’s an unique, dimly-lit, cozy cafe with a Victorian sofa and red walls. It’s pretty crammed, and be prepared to sit at a tight table with strangers. We came at a good time, because soon, there was even a line up to get in.

Sheepie had the Hot Chocolate $4 and I had the small Hawaiian Colada Tea $2.50. We shared an Apple Pie $7. The tea was flavourful and the pie was yummy. We had good service. Sheepie enjoyed the cafe. I thought it was different, but not too into the cramming-thing. Although we did have our own little sofa, we only saw the line up right in front of us which was a bit distracting.
