Bump n Grind Cafe on Commercial

We were in the neighbourhood, so we decided to check out the cafe. I had actually been invited to their grand opening at their Granville location, but I was too busy at the time to attend. So it was nice to finally be able to check them out.

It’s a small hipsterish cafe. Simple decor and furniture.

Sheepie ordered the Latte $4.20 and the Oat & Raisin Cookie $2.70.

I had the Egyptian Chamomile Tea $2.90 and Lemon Tart $ 3.15. It was really fluffy and not too sweet – which I always like in a dessert.

At most venues we go to, the music is too loud. But other than that, very nice cafe.

Waves on Commercial

I love Waves for their Rooibos latte and frap, and this time, I saw their new drink, the Blackberry Soda $2. I gave it a try, and it was pretty good. Not too sweet and refreshing on a hot summer day. The staff was a bit of a hipster, the place was kept fairly clean, but being that it’s located on Commercial, there are some dodgy customers that come in. Out of the several Waves that I’ve been to (Robson, Howe, Lonsdale, Hastings, Pender, Broadway) this is my least favourite.

Kojima Sushi

Once in a while, we return to these cheaper Chinese run sushi restaurants. It feels a bit run-down…but if you’re into the “cheap but more quantity with less quality”, then this is another jackpot for you. We happen to drive by the area on a Friday evening. It was half full.

I ordered Combo B $8.95 which comes with a bowl of udon, 4 pieces of tempura, 4 pieces of yam rolls and 4 avocado rolls.

Yes, I love the price, but I’ve slowly been spoiled by better quality, atmosphere and everything of places that offer more (of course for a bit more $$)…lol and my pet peeve of having food served on plastic ruins the food. However, the food was pretty good.

Sheepie ordered the Mix Combo A with spicy tuna roll $10.95. Compared to my combo, he was a bit disappointed that his portion was a lot smaller, but then again, he did have raw fish.
Service was really good as they kept filling our cups with tea. For a meal that wont hurt your wallet, this place has some good selections of combos.
