Blenz in Chinatown

Blenz Coffee on Urbanspoon

A trendy one right across from T&T and International Village Mall, often occupied with Korean students late at night. There is usually only one staff working at night, but the service is prompt and friendly.
Unfortunately, being in the location that it is, you will always have one homeless man either harassing the staff or doing suspicious in the cafe which ruins the trendy cool-place-to hangout atmosphere. The one Korean guy that works the night shift is usually good with them, and will either tell them to leave or stop what they’re doing – unlike some staff at other restaurants/cafe.
The furniture and decor is very unique to this location, and it’s one of our favourite Blenz.

I really like Blenz drinks. I’d go more often if it wasn’t so expensive. I do find that the drinks taste better than Starbucks. After going a bit healthy, it’s nice to have options for having drink non-sweet. I usually have my matcha as it is. It’s nice being able to customize your drink. Starbucks does it to, but I find Blenz is more pure. They also use higher quality ingredients, and make drinks from raw ingredients rather than using processed syrups and flavours.

Unlike Starbucks where every one of them will look pretty much the same almost anywhere you go, each location of Blenz has a unique style or look to them. The decor will be different. The furniture will be different. The atmosphere and the type of people that come will be different. I hear they are expanding, so hopefully, we’ll see more of them elsewhere!

Free Admission at Science World!!! Sept 28 & 29 2013

I’ve told a few friends about it, and they were really happy that I told them about it, so I thought I’d share it through my blog too. With admission at Science World at $22.50-$28.50 for adult entry, I’d been reluctant to go back…but with free admission there are no excuses in not going. With the kick-off to its ‘Around the Dome in 30 Days’ Month-Long Science Festival and the recent major $35-million renovation and expansion, those are also good reasons to check out the museum.

It’s pouring and cold outside, what better way to spend the day inside and learn new things about the world!

Clark’s Shoes

Perhaps not the most stylish footwear, those if you really search, some are acceptable for young people and can even fit as being trendy if you can wear it right.
It’s not your Payless shoes that you get for $10, you are paying for the quality and comfort. I am amazed at the difference the shoes have, not only on your feet, but overall body. If you are going to pay lots for a big brand, might as well buy something that you are getting comfort…yes, I sound like your mother don’t I. Most of their shoes can look a bit ‘granny’ like, which is why I also check out Naturalizer Outlet.

When Sears in downtown was closing down, they had a closing out sale. I was able to get these Clark’s sandles for really cheap. I’m regretting not buying two!

I got these cute jeans flats at a store in Metrotown for a deal as well.

If you can find a decent model/type/look, get Clark’s!
